Dell Precision 7740 - Intel Xeon RTX 3000 6GB Workstation

Desktop workstation power. Without the desktop tower.

Some professionals don't need an ultra-thin laptop. They need a powerful machine with a large screen, dedicated graphics, extensive connectivity and the freedom to move between workspaces.

The Dell Precision 7740 delivers exactly that.

Equipped with an Intel Xeon E-2276M processor, 32GB RAM, 512GB SSD and NVIDIA Quadro RTX 3000 graphics with 6GB dedicated memory, this 17.3-inch mobile workstation is designed for engineers, architects, developers, designers and demanding business users.

Intel Xeon performance for professional workloads

The Intel Xeon E-2276M features 6 cores and 12 threads, with turbo speeds reaching up to 4.7GHz.

Combined with 32GB RAM, it provides a capable foundation for demanding multitasking, technical applications, software development, large spreadsheets and professional productivity.

The 512GB SSD keeps applications and frequently accessed project files responsive.

Unlike many modern thin-and-light laptops, the Precision 7740 also supports significant hardware expansion, including four memory slots and multiple internal SSD positions.

NVIDIA Quadro RTX 3000 - Professional graphics capability

The NVIDIA Quadro RTX 3000 features 6GB dedicated GDDR6 graphics memory, providing GPU acceleration for compatible technical and creative applications.

It's particularly relevant for:

• AutoCAD and engineering drawings
• Autodesk Revit and architectural workflows
• SolidWorks and mechanical design
• 3D modelling and visualisation
• Adobe creative applications
• Video editing and GPU-supported software

Performance depends on individual software requirements, project complexity and driver compatibility.

For professionals who need more graphics capability than a conventional office laptop provides, the dedicated Quadro RTX GPU is a major advantage.

A massive 17.3-inch UltraSharp display

One of this Precision's standout features is its large Dell UltraSharp display.

The factory configuration specifies a 17.3-inch Full HD IPS anti-glare panel with 100% sRGB colour coverage.

Its generous physical screen size provides comfortable working space for CAD drawings, spreadsheets, development environments, editing applications and technical documents.

The anti-glare finish also makes it practical for long working sessions.

This is a non-touchscreen, 1920 × 1080 display.

Extensive connectivity for your workstation setup

The Precision 7740 offers the connectivity expected from a professional mobile workstation.

Thunderbolt 3, USB-A, HDMI, Mini DisplayPort, Ethernet and an SD card reader make it easy to build a productive setup with compatible external monitors, peripherals and storage devices.

Whether you work independently or connect to a larger desk-based environment, the Precision provides flexibility without relying entirely on adapters.

A genuine desktop replacement

At approximately 3.5kg, the Precision 7740 prioritises workstation capability over ultra-lightweight portability.

It's an excellent choice for users who primarily work at a desk but occasionally need to move their entire computing setup.

This particular unit has approximately 71% battery health. Battery runtime varies with workload and display settings, so using the supplied Dell 240W adapter is recommended for demanding applications.
