How we test every Flikgear laptop
Every laptop that reaches a Flikgear buyer has gone through a rigorous 7-step refurbishment process. Here's exactly what happens before a laptop reaches your door.
Receiving & Intake
Every laptop arrives and is logged into our inventory system. We record the model, serial number, and initial physical state before anything is touched.
Full Inspection
We check every external port, every physical component, and the overall structural integrity. Cracked chassis, broken hinges, or damaged ports are flagged at this stage.
Hardware Testing
We run comprehensive diagnostics: CPU stress test, RAM test, storage health check (S.M.A.R.T.), display test for dead pixels, keyboard and trackpad test, battery calibration, and cooling system check.
Deep Cleaning
The chassis, keyboard, screen, and vents are professionally cleaned. Thermal paste is replaced on the CPU and GPU where needed to ensure proper cooling performance.
Condition Grading
Based on cosmetic inspection results, each laptop is assigned a condition grade: Open Box / Like New, Excellent Refurbished, Good Refurbished, or Fair Refurbished. The grade reflects appearance only - all grades pass the same hardware tests.
OS & Software Setup
We install a fresh licensed copy of Windows or restore macOS to factory settings. All data from previous owners is permanently wiped. The laptop is ready to use out of the box.
Warranty Registration & Listing
A Flikgear warranty QR code is attached to the unit. The laptop is photographed, spec-listed, and published to the storefront. The warranty (up to 6 months) begins when the buyer registers via the QR code.

Every laptop, every time
We don't cut steps based on price point or grade. A laptop that costs S$399 goes through the same process as one at S$2,499. The condition grade reflects cosmetic appearance - not the quality of our testing.
